PhD Positions, Texas A&M University, U.S.A. (2017)

The Department of Large Animal Clinical Sciences in the College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, Texas A&M University is accepting applications for a Post-Residency PhD Training Program in Gamete Biology.

The graduate faculty in Equine Theriogenology consists of five board certified Diplomates in the American College of Theriogenologists, two with MS degrees and three with PhD degrees, all of whom are internationally recognized as experts in their field. Current research efforts include sperm and oocyte biology, and involve independent investigations and active collaborations with other investigators across our campus, as well as other institutions worldwide. Research focus includes oocyte development and maturation, intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), sperm function and preservation, and sperm-oocyte interactions.

Departmental funding is provided for up to four years of the training program. A stipend of $40,000 US per year and benefits are provided, which include monetary support for health insurance and tuition.

While engagement in clinical duty integral to the trainee’s research activity is an asset, it is not expected, and any clinical duties will be limited and not detract from research training.
