The internationally esteemed Faculty of Educational Sciences at the University of Helsinki is Finland’s most multidisciplinary unit of research and teaching in educational sciences and teacher education. The Faculty of Educational Sciences invites applications for 4 POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHERS for a two year period. The successful candidates’ research projects will focus on educational sciences.

The duties of the postdoctoral researcher include research, teaching, and other activities at the Faculty. The post will require both independent and collaborative scientific publishing.

An appointee to the position of postdoctoral researcher must hold a doctoral degree in a relevant field, have the ability to conduct independent scientific research, and possess the teaching skills required for the position. The candidate should have a proven capability to publish in scientific journals, have excellent analytical and methodological skills, and be able to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary scientific community. The successful candidates are expected to have excellent skills in written and oral English.

The postdoctoral researchers to be appointed should have obtained their doctoral degree within the last five years.

The salary for the position will be based on level 5 of the demands level chart or teaching and research personnel in the salary system of Finnish universities. In addition, the appointee will be paid a salary component based on personal performance. The salary is EUR 3,300-4,000 per month, depending on the appointee’s qualifications and experience. There is a four-month trial period for the position.
