The unit for Hydrological Research works in Sweden, Europe and worldwide with developing Water and Climate services based on forecast and scenario tools. We calculate variability in water resources, climate change impacts, and water quality in catchments. The work done here aims to improve decision support for physical planning and environmental control, as well as forecasting for flood warning services and the hydropower industry. We work directly with both external end-users and SMHI’s more operational divisions. The unit has some 30 employees from 13 countries.
We are now looking forward to employ three scientists with documented experience in climate/water research for developing our water and climate services. You will work in a team with guidance from a mentor and contribute to on-going projects with international collaboration in Europe and world-wide. Your work will mainly consist of method development and handling of large data volumes to be evaluated and used in applications for research.
