Technical Editor for Latin / Ancient Greek & French Texts
Your role:
For a challenging multilingual digitisation project you will:
• Take care of the preparation & follow-up of a large-scale text digitisation project, including:
o Analysis of the content of the multilingual source material
o Description of detailed metadata
o Instruction writing for the data-entry program
o Quality check of incoming files, including:
tagging / adjusting / aligning data
various philological verifications
• Collaborate closely with our IT-specialist and with an editorial team
Your profile:
You have:
• Relevant academic background
• Fluid command of English & French
• Very good written knowledge of Latin & Ancient Greek; knowledge of Oriental languages is an asset
• Excellent organisational skills: you can plan ahead and distinguish the important from the optional in order to get work done within a strict time frame
• Fluent user experience with Office programs (Word, Excel, Skype, OneNote, …)
You are:
• Digitally literate
• Not afraid of web applications, databases, XML, structured data, …
• Interested in (European) history & culture
• A very accurate, systematic & efficient team player
