Nanoscience Center is currently seeking to recruit staff to the positions of
5 Postdoctoral Researchers in Nanoscience, starting on 1 June 2018 or as agreed for up to 2 years.
Nanoscience Center (NSC)at the University of Jyväskylä is an interdisciplinary research organization where physicists, chemists and biologists work together to study nature at the nanoscale. Nanoscience Center forms an international scientific community with around 25 research groups and around 150 researchers, and includes several distinguished scientists. Its research projects span from fundamental investigations of processes in nanoscale structures to development of commercial products. Nanoscience Center is the core unit of one of the profiling areas of the University of Jyväskylä – nanoscience. Its form combining researchers from three disciplines is unique in Finland, and worldwide there are only a few comparable organizations. The research done within NSC can be divided based on the traditional disciplines from nanobiology to experimental and theoretical nanophysics, or based on interdisciplinary focus areas such as the laser research using spectroscopy to study nanosystems from graphene to individual molecules, or the collaboration on gold nanoparticles as markers of viruses.
The postdoctoral researchers will work in three different research projects: “Graphene-based nerve-machine interface” (3 positions), “Theory of nonequilibrium effects in superconductor/ferromagnet systems”, and “Polaritonic chemistry”. Please look for more detailed descriptions of the projects and positions in questionon the web page.
The duties and qualification requirements and language skills for the position of the Postdoctoral Researcher are stipulated by the University of Jyväskylä Regulations and language skills guidelines. The postdoctoral researcher is expected to have good skills in English language.
