To complete the team of the Nanoparticles Self-Assembly of the chemistry department at the University of Fribourg, Prof. Marco Lattuada is looking for a few highly motivated PhD candidates for four years, starting as soon as possible.
The candidates will work on a cutting-edge research project targeting the preparation of novel anisotropic particles and investigate their self-assembly. The work will consist in the synthesis of the particles, their characterization, and in investigating their self-assembly behavior, with focus on either the preparation of complex micromachines, or of sophisticated colloidal crystals with unique optical properties. The use of several characterization methods (including optical and electron microscopy and scattering methods) will be an essential part of the work.
Applications will be accepted until July 28, 2018.
