10 PhD Scholarships, Eindhoven University of Technology, Netherlands (2018)

Within projects funded by the Netherlands Center for Multiscale Catalytic Energy Conversion (MCEC) and the Advanced Research Center Chemical Building Blocks Consortium (ARC CBBC) we are looking for 10 PhD candidates. All projects are in the field of chemical engineering, and related to the study of transport phenomena in catalytic reactors or catalyst preparation. There is a variety of projects available ranging from computational to experimental. Keywords are:

- Dispersed multiphase flows
- Gas-solid processes
- Gas-liquid(-solid) processes
- Catalytic reaction engineering
- Modeling of heat and mass transfer coupled to catalytic reactions
- Non-invasive experimental techniques

All the research projects are related to the energy transition and development of the novel technology needed for that. If you are motivated by contributing to these exciting developments and have a solid background in the required field of research, please apply.

REQUIREMENTS
Candidate profile
We are looking for an experienced candidate with a background in chemical engineering or a closely related field. The prospective researcher is expected to have some experience in modeling or experimentation of transport phenomena. An affinity with the process industry is preferred. The ideal candidate has good scientific skills as well as excellent soft skills related to verbal and written communication.

Appointment and Salary
We offer a challenging job for four years in a highly motivated team at a dynamic and ambitious University. The TU/e is located in one of the smartest regions of the world and part of the European technology hotspot 'Brainport Eindhoven'; well-known because of many high-tech industries and start-ups. The gross monthly salary in accordance with the Collective Labor Agreement of the Dutch Universities (CAO NU), starts with € 2.266,- in the first year to € 2.897,- in the fourth year. Besides this the TU/e has holiday- and end-of the year allowances, an excellent package of attractive benefits for employees and a modern sports complex.
