One of the biggest single poem competitions in the world, the National Poetry Competition is open to anyone aged 17 or older.
Eligibility
- The competition is open to anyone aged 17 or older. International entries are welcome;
- The competition is for previously unpublished poems of up to 40 lines in length;
- Entries must be written in English;
- Entries can be on any subject;
- Entries must not have been published, self-published, published on a website, broadcast or featured among the winners in another competition before 31 March 2020.
The first poem submitted costs GBP 7. Subsequent entries in the same submission cost GBP 4 per poem.
Award
- 1st prize: GBP 5.000
- 2nd prize:GBP 2.000
- 3rd prize: GBP 1.000
- seven commendations of GBP 200.
