The two PhD students will perform research on electrochemical reactions involving nitrogen in order to form useful products like ammonia. This topic is highly challenging because of the stability of the di-nitrogen molecule and because of competing side reactions. You will perform research on the design of electrochemical cells, the use of electro catalysts, electrolytes and detection and separation of the products. The research is performed in a larger framework of research within TU Delft, the E-Refinery, and receives support from the Dutch Science Foundation within the Domain Applied and Engineering Sciences (AES) and several companies.
