For employment at the Thessaloniki office (Greece) Brepols requires:
1. Editorial assistant (Art History, History)
Your role:
• Supporting the publishing manager by performing different functions
o Copy-editing of manuscripts, proofreading, harmonizing of author corrections general manuscript preparation for (art-historical) publications
o Performing technical editing: harmonize bibliographic references, checking indexes, applying the style guide, basic cover design etc.
o Blurb editing, writing book/series presentations, writing marketing materials
o Interacting with publishing managers and/or authors to establish and maintain schedules, various administrative tasks, all in accordance with the in-house workflow.
• All of this under the supervision of the publishing manager abroad and the local office manager.
Your profile:
• Native or near-native English speaker: accurate and fluent. Good knowledge of French, Italian, other European languages or Latin will be an advantage
• Interested in art history and/or (european) history
• A relevant academic background
• Excellent knowledge of MS Word and other office programs; some knowledge of XML, InDesign or databases will be an advantage
• You are a very accurate, systematic and efficient team player
2. Administrative-commercial assistant
Your role:
• Supporting the Customer Care and Marketing Departments in:
o various commercial-administrative tasks (e.g. conference administration, preparation of product lists,…)
o order entry and follow-up of specific order types
o prepare sales and marketing documents
o this requires the use of the in-house ERP system
• This job could be combined with the function of editorial assistant
Your profile:
• Strong administrative skills
• Very good written knowledge of English and French
• Excellent knowledge of MS office programs (mainly Word and Excel)
• A relevant academic background or experience
• Interested in (european) history
• You are a very accurate, systematic and efficient team player
