ESAT-STADIUS (Stadius Center for Dynamical Systems, Signal Processing, and Data Analytics, www.esat.kuleuven.be/stadius/ ) is a research division within the Department of Electrical Engineering (ESAT) of KU Leuven, with 11 permanent staff members and approximately 100 PhD and postdoctoral researchers. ESAT-STADIUS conducts fundamental as well as applied research in the area of control, system identification, signal processing, machine learning, numerical optimization, and bioinformatics.
The group of Prof. Patrinos at STADIUS Center for Dynamical Systems, Signal Processing and Data Analytics, Department of Electrical Engineering (ESAT), KU Leuven is offering fully funded PhD and postdoc positions on the following projects:
1. Learning to optimize non-convex problems: provably and efficiently
2. Optimization frameworks for deep kernel machines
3. Optimization algorithms for structured low-rank matrix/tensor approximation
