The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is a non-governmental, humanitarian organization experienced in helping to create a safer and more dignified life for refugees and internally displaced people. NRC advocates for the rights of displaced populations and offers assistance within the shelter, food security, and water, sanitation and hygiene sectors. The Norwegian Refugee Council has approximately 5000 committed and competent employees involved in projects across four continents. In addition, NRC runs one of the world’s largest standby rosters, NORCAP, with 650 professionals, ready to be deployed on 72 hours’ notice when a crisis occurs. In light of the high influx of migrants to the Greek islands, NRC has started an emergency response programme on the island of Chios to respond to the humanitarian needs. NRC is assisting the Greek authorities in the reception centres and related 24/7 services for the arriving migrants and refugees. NRC is therefore seeking to fill the following positions in Chios:
Positions:
1. Distribution Assistant (5 positions)
2. A Site Management Assistant
3. A Farsi translator assistant
4. A Translator Officer
5. Information Assistant (3 positions)
6. A Water Sanitation and Hygiene Technical Specialist
(minimum Engineer degree)
7. A Human resources officer (minimum Bachelor degree in
Human Resources)
8. A warehouse assistant
9. A night guard.
Specific qualifications:
- Social working experience
- Relevant professional and educational background
- Proactive with a high level of flexibility
- Fluency in English (minimum). Arabic, Farsi, and Pashtun langue skills an asset.
- Motivated & culturally sensitive
- Valid driving license.
Personal qualification:
- Ability to work under pressure, independently and with limited supervision.
