Postdoc and Phd positions available to work on algorithms for taxonomic and medical analysis of very long, error-prone DNA sequencing reads on a mobile computer
The lab of Prof. Daniel Huson at the Center for Bioinformatics of the University of Tübingen has two three-year positions available starting April 2016, in the context of DFG project MAIRA – Highly efficient and accurate algorithms for mobile analysis of microbes”.
- PostDoc position (100% position, pay grade E13 TV-L). You will work on design and implementation of algorithms for taxonomic analysis of very long, error-prone DNA sequencing reads on a mobile computer. We ask that you have a proven track record in algorithm design and implementation in bioinformatics.
- PhD position (100% position, pay grade E13 TV-L). You will develop methods for the medical analysis of very long, error-prone DNA sequencing reads on a mobile computer. We ask that you have a very good master in bioinformatics or medical informatics.
Disabled candidates will be given preference over other equally qualified applicants.
