The Directorate General Research (DG/R) of the European Central Bank (ECB) is seeking applicants for its 2016 Summer Research Graduate Programme. The Programme is aimed at highly promising students in their second or third year of PhD studies in economics, finance, statistics, mathematics or a related discipline. The successful candidates will visit one of the two divisions within DG/R, namely the Monetary Policy Research Division or the Financial Research Division. They will conduct research on a proposed project over three months during the summer, under the supervision of a senior DG/R economist.
Cooperation with other ECB economists that may be conducive to joint research projects is encouraged. Participants are expected to present the results of their research in a seminar at the end of their visit.
Applications from female candidates are strongly encouraged in order to enhance the diversity of the workforce at the ECB.
The successful applicant will be entrusted with the following main tasks:
conducting research on a topic of policy relevance for the ECB;
cooperating with economists from DG/R and other ECB business areas.
