Traineeships at European Central Bank in Directorate General Market Infrastructure and Payments

The Directorate General Market Infrastructure and Payments (DG/MIP) is seeking applications from recent graduates and/or from PhD students who have completed at least two calendar years of their PhD studies for a six-month traineeship (with the possibility of an extension to up to 12 months in total).

DG/MIP is responsible for the ECB’s activities related to the provision of payment and securities settlement services, the oversight of financial market infrastructures and payment instruments, and cooperation with market stakeholders to achieve financial market integration. It also works with financial institutions and non-euro area central banks on policy matters relating to regional and global developments in the field of market infrastructure and payments.

DG/MIP consists of four divisions: Market Infrastructure Development, Market Infrastructure Management, Market Integration and Oversight. Within the division to which the selected trainee(s) will be assigned he/she will work in one of the teams in charge of a particular dossier on the basis of his/her interests and profile.
