- A doctoral degree (level 10 NFQ) in engineering, materials science, physics or mathematics, relevant to modelling of composites (students that have their PhD viva by 31/12/2016 will also be considered).
- At least two relevant web of science listed publications
- Demonstrable experience of mathematical modelling techniques associated with finite element analysis development and Rayleigh-Ritz techniques
- Demonstrable experience of Matlab (or similar) and finite element analysis
- Knowledge of composite materials and their structures
- Self-directed and prepared to take initiative whilst also a committed team-player
