Microbes in Health and Disease program at the University Medical Center Groningen (UMCG), the Netherlands offers 16 PhD positions within the project PRONKJEWAIL (EU Horizon 2020/MSCA COFUND). Research training builds on 4 Pillars: 1) Vaccines and primary prevention, 2) Personalized detection and infection prevention, 3) Iatrogenic influence on the microbiome, 4) Personalized therapy/stewardship.
Applicants should be highly motivated, enthusiastic, willing to work in a multinational and multidisciplinary team, be proficient in English and willing to learn Dutch.
Applicants must hold a master’s degree or equivalent, be in the first 4 years of their career and not yet have been awarded a doctoral degree. Applicants must not have been resident at the Netherlands for more than 12 months in the past 3 years.
