The Department of Environmental Engineering at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU Environment) advertises PhD positions in the section of RESIDUAL RESOURCE ENGINEERING in the areas described below. The RESIDUAL RESOURCE ENGINEERING section has 4 professors and several Senior Researchers, Researchers, Post-Docs and PhD-students, in total about 50 people. Among other topics, the section carries out research in relation to residual biomass conversion processes, bioenergy technologies, waste technologies, resource recovery and recycling, as well as environmental and economic life cycle assessment within these areas.
Qualifications
Candidates should have a master's degree in engineering or a similar degree with an academic level equivalent to the master's degree in engineering. The following qualifications are prioritised, depending on the specific PhD fellowship:
- Knowledge of waste management, recovery and recycling processes
- Knowledge of waste materials, quality of waste materials and resource recovery
- Knowledge of and experiences with material and resource flows in society, including analysis of these flows
- Knowledge of and experiences with biomass conversion process modelling
- Knowledge of and experiences with life cycle assessment (LCA) modelling of energy, waste and resource systems
