The European Railway Agency (ERA) provides in-service training to give selected trainees who have a background relating to the activities of the agency.
The traineeship aims to give an understanding of the Agency and its role within the activities of the European Union, enables them to acquire practical knowledge in one of the ERA ’s fields of activity and to obtain professional experience in the course of their work.
The programme is mainly addressed to young university graduates, without excluding those who – in the framework of lifelong learning – have recently obtained a university diploma and are at the beginning of a new professional career.
The traineeships are organised twice a year, each for a period of 3 to 5 months, beginning in March and October. However, other durations may be possible in exceptional cases.
Trainees will receive a monthly grant of ca. 1,200 Euro, reimbursement of travel expenses, paid leaves and training opportunities.
Eligible candidates should have:
- an university degree (minimum 3 years of study);
- a very good knowledge of English language;
- a very good knowledge of a second language - for EU nationals, this must be an EU official language.
Priority will be given to candidates who have never been working or training within a European Institution or Body.
Participating countries:
- 28 EU Member States
- Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway,
- Candidates of an acceding country.
A limited number of nationals of non-Member States are also accepted according to available resources and in accordance with the operational priorities of ERA.
