The successful applicant will pursue their own research projects in the field of haematological malignancy and pre-malignancy under Professor Vassiliou’s supervision. Professor Vassiliou’s CCRI-based team (International Team Haematology) will interact closely, hold joint science meetings, and have reciprocal research placements with the Cambridge team, as required by individual research projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop, perform, drive and publish high-quality research in the early detection, pathogenesis and treatment of pre-leukaemia and leukaemia.
Write scientific manuscripts and grant proposals.
Participate in the laboratory’s day-to-day activities, protocols, and procedures.
Keep appropriate experimental records and documentation.
Hold regular meeting with the Group Leader to analyse & interpret results.
Develop, import, adapt and implement new research techniques and protocols.
Operate and maintain equipment and instruments.
Dissemination of research results in regular group meetings, scientific conferences, and journal publications.
Day-to-day supervision of trainees, PhD students and visitors where required.
Work closely with other CCRI scientists to conduct collaborative research, share ideas and come up with solutions to scientific problems.
