Are you interested in critically analysing and dissecting contemporary conditions? We are looking for three PhD candidates in Sociology for the EnGendering Europe’s Muslim Question research project, which is funded by the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (NOW). This PhD track is part of the 'Political Sociology: Power, Place, and Difference', which is of the programme groups of the Amsterdam Institute for Social Science Research (AISSR), and is located in the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences, Department of Sociology.
Requirements
What do we require of you?
You have:
- a MA/MSc degree in the Social Sciences (or are expected to obtain such a degree by 31 July 2019;
- experience with qualitative research methods;
- experience with discourse analysis;
- experience with analysing public debates;
- high proficiency in English, and working knowledge of one of the other languages of the case-studies (Dutch, French or German).
You are:
- curious and enthusiastic about academic research;
- capable of conducting original research independently as well as working in a team;
- capable of planning and organize your work and related activities, and able to meet deadlines.
