The Kessler Foundation (West Orange, New Jersey, USA) – Rutgers New Jersey Medical School (NJMS) is recruiting postdoctoral fellows to conduct research in biomechanics, neurorehabilitation and neuroimaging at the Center for Mobility and Rehabilitation Engineering at KF. These two-year fellowship positions are funded by an Advanced Rehabilitation Research Training (ARRT) grant from the National Institute on Disability, Independent Living and Rehabilitation Research (NIDILRR).
Qualifying candidates must have a doctorate in engineering (e.g. biomedical or related), biomechanics, neuroscience or a related field. Highly motivated individuals with prior research experience in neuroimaging (fMRI, DTI, fNIRS), electrophysiology (EEG, TMS), mobility (gait and posture), biomechanics or motor control are sought. The successful applicants will work as part of teams including research scientists, physicians, physical therapists, study coordinators, engineers, and research assistants.
Responsibilities include:
- Contribute to ongoing biomechanics, neurorehabilitation and/or neuroimaging research related to mobility and motor control
- Work independently or in collaboration to perform dedicated tasks in the assigned timeline
- Be involved in the ARRT fellowship program by participating in didactic lectures and other training activities
- Assist with experimental setups, collection, and processing of biomedical data
- Utilize existing as well as develop novel analyses of the interpretation of the experimental data
