The CANCERPREV Marie Skłodowska-Curie Innovative Training Network (MSC ITN*) offers a highly competitive inter-institutional research training program in cancer prevention, with a focus on the interplay between sex hormone signalling and chronic inflammation, and genetic and epigenetic cancer risk factors. Research projects are centred on breast and skin cancer as benchmarks of cancer development in organs with reproductive and non-reproductive functions, respectively.
The training is provided by seven host academic institutions and eight associate NGOs and private companies in five EU countries with expertise spanning molecular and cellular cancer research, human genetics and epidemiology, bioinformatics and mathematics, biomarkers, biotechnology and drug development.
Joint research training, participation in workshops and meetings will foster communication and outreach efforts, to raise appreciation of societal challenges and open new job opportunities in cancer prevention.
