General Overview of the Youth Exchange:

The Youth Exchange "Time Travellers – The European Perspective II" is part of the long term project, called SOLIDARITY FOR ENLARGMENT AND INTEGRATION and will bring together young people from 6 different countries.

Objectives of the youth exchange:

The participants of this Youth Exchange will travel back in time and inspect the development of Europe throughout the last centuries. They will travel into the past of their own families, into the times back then in their own communities. They will explore the development of their home places and the regional surrounding and will discover, which were reasons for migration then, how countries and societies dealt with it.

At the same time participants will learn about the diverse history of the locations of their exchange in Bosnia, about migration of peoples, rise and fall of empires, development of nations and identities, the demography of places. Together participants will draw comparisons among each other and with the situation nowadays. They will develop competences and methods to raise awareness for their own antidiscrimination work.

Aim of the youth exchange:

The Youth Exchanges aim to encourage the practical participation of young people in public life, to encourage their involvement against xenophobia and racist tensions in their local communities and to facilitate their potential as responsible modern Europeans. Intensive dealing with the history of migration, with the reasons, mechanisms and results of xenophobia and racism will be the core part of this youth exchange.

The planned activities are encouraging young people’s awareness and commitment to tackle these issues, which are often concealed, and to opt for more inclusive societies in terms of immigration. The development of their consciousness as responsible European citizens shall enable them to withstand and overcome discrimination and exclusion, where they encounter it.

Καλύπτεται το 100% του κόστους διαμονής και διατροφής και μέχρι 275 ευρώ ταξιδιωτικών εξόδων. Κόστος συμμετοχής: 15 ευρώ
