The Collaborative Research Centre "N-Heteropolycycles as Functional Materials" (SFB 1249) at Heidelberg University focuses on the rational development of new organic semiconductors based on the large and widely variable class of N-heteropolycycles. The aim is to identify the key construction principles that permit a rational control of the molecular properties as well as the characteristics of the resulting material through the combination of theory and experiment.
