Three PhD positions on Delta Adaptation

At the department of Physical Geography, we explore these adaptation options and link them to adaptation pathways aiming to promote sustainable deltas. To contribute to this research, we seek a team of three PhD candidates who will each work on a separate project:

The Artificial Intelligence and Information Analysis Laboratory (AIIA Lab, AIIA.CVML R&D group) of the School of Informatics, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece (AUTH) has two open PhD candidate or predoc research positions. Applicants may become PhD candidates or just do R&D work. The interested applicant must have strong theoretical and/or applied background in machine learning and computer vision, with an emphasis on deep learning. Potential (not exclusive) application domains include robotics/autonomous systems, natural disaster management and industrial inspection.

2 PhD Scholarships – ERC Consolidator Grant URANUS

Two scholarships for full-time PhD studies are offered as part of the prestigious 2022 European Research Council (ERC) Consolidator Grant awarded to Associate Professor Stelios Timotheou for his 5-year, 2-million-euro project “Real-Time Urban Mobility Management via Intelligent UAV-based Sensing (URANUS)”. The URANUS project focuses on real-time, dynamic, and intelligent sensing of vehicular and pedestrian traffic via Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), and the use of the collected information for urban mobility management.
