The Research group Noncoding Principles of Energy Homeostasis (Kornfeld Lab) is seeking applications from:

Postdoctoral fellows and/or PhD students

for a 5-year project committed to by the European Research Council (ERC).

The successful applicant will be driving cutting-edge research projects trying to understand the role of noncoding RNAs like microRNAs and lncRNAs in the transgenerational inheritance of obesity. In this project we are interested in addressing the following research questions:

Making and Breaking Cancer Cells through Epigenome Programming (Postdoc & PhD Positions), CeMM, Austria (2016)

Epigenetic alterations can be detected in all cancers and in essentially every patient. Despite their prevalence, the concrete functional roles of these alterations are not well understood. In this project, we aim to develop and apply epigenome programming technology that will allow us to precisely manipulate the epigenome and to rationally reprogram normal cells into cancer cells and vice versa.
