The Research Group examines the role of international law in a changing global order. It assumes that a systemically relevant crisis of international law of unusual proportions is currently taking place which requires a reassessment of the state and role of the international legal order. It focuses on the type of international law that we may currently see emerging. Developments in recent years give rise to the question whether the move towards an international rule of law has lost momentum.
