The ultimate goal of the Collaborative Research Center (CRC) 1182 “Origin and Function of Metaorganisms” (www.metaorganism-research.com) at Kiel University is to understand why and how microbial communities form long-term associations with hosts from diverse taxonomic groups. We are particularly interested in the specific functional consequences of the interactions, the underlying regulatory principles, and the resulting impact on host life history and evolutionary fitness in selected host systems.
The International Max Planck Research School for Molecular Life Sciences: From Biological Structures to Neural Circuits (IMPRS-LS) currently has an open call for fully funded PhD student positions. We are looking for outstanding graduates from all over the world to join our network of passionate young scientists in one of Europe's most attractive cities.
Applications are invited for 15 three-year PhD studentships to be funded by the Marie- Skłodowska-Curie Innovative Training Network “BactiVax” within the Horizon 2020 Programme of the European Commission.
