The focus of the research group “Effectors and Regulation of Autophagy during Ageing” is to understand how cells integrate metabolic information to elicit an appropriate autophagy response. Intermediate & Senior Transition Fellowships, University of Oxford, UK (2016)

The BHF Centre of Research Excellence (BHF CRE) supports Intermediate and Senior Transition Fellows with either a basic science or clinical background.

For both levels of fellowship, the applicants can be either basic scientists or clinicians, and should have an outstanding track record of research. The purpose of the transition fellowships is to position Early Career Researchers ready to secure external funding opportunities, and to foster and develop future leaders in cardiovascular research.

Next deadline for applications: 12noon, Tuesday 31st May 2016

PhD & Postdoctoral Positions in Molecular & Cellular Biology, University of Fribourg, Switzerland (2016)

Both positions are funded by the University of Fribourg and the Swiss National Science Foundation and are available for for studies on nutrient signaling pathways (e.g., the target of rapamycin complex 1 [TORC1] pathway) and their role in the control of cell proliferation and quiescence in the model organism Saccharomyces cerevisiae (yeast). The studies will include a combination of genetic, biochemical, and molecular approaches and are aimed at understanding the basic mechanisms that control entry into, survival in, and exit from quiescence.
