PhD Fellowships for the European Training Network ALKATRAS, Europe (2016)

We invite applications for 3-year Marie Sklodowska-Curie ESR Fellowships to start between January and August 2016 to work with the European Research Initiative on ALK Related Malignancies (www.erialcl.net) on projects that will build on our existing collaborations. Successful candidates will receive a stipend according to the applicable regulations of the EC governing Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions ITN-ETN – Training Networks to cover their living expenses.

Graphene NOWNANO is a recently established Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) based at the University of Manchester in partnership with Lancaster University. It builds on the world-leading expertise in the science and technology of graphene and other two-dimensional (2D) materials at Manchester and Lancaster to offer a broad interdisciplinary CDT. PhD students receive initial state-of-the-art training in fundamentals of graphene/2D materials, their applications, and key techniques.

Modern genomics promises not only to help uncover the molecular basis of disease, but also to have a major impact on health care through translation of advances in techniques, computation and knowledge into clinical trials and clinical practice. Quantitative analysis is at the heart of this goal, and there is a pressing requirement for researchers with thorough mathematical and statistical expertise, in addition to training in medical genetics and informatics.
