The Open Society Foundations is seeking applicants for its Human Rights and Drug Policy Workshop in Hong Kong with an aim to focus on the connections between human rights, public health, and drug policy as well as the gap between these principles and practice in the implementation of drug policies in Asia. The workshop will familiarize participants with the international drug control system, regional trends in drug markets (supply, transit, and demand), and comparative case studies of alternative approaches to managing drug use in society as a health and social concern.

The attempt to advance European political integration further beyond intergovernmental cooperation leads to the question, to which extent civic identification and will for collective political action is possible at European level? Do young Europeans have opportunities to become socialized to European citizenship? How do we understand the concept and what are the mechanisms to practice it? Is the European dimension promoted using appropriate pedagogical approaches to citizenship at national level?

In Europe at the moment we see the rising signs of intolerance, racism and discrimination in the society, and mainly in media. The need we perceive in young people we are working with is to counteract to the mainstream media which fuels the intolerance and fear and to provide them with tools how to use the power of storytelling and also help them to be able to handle all these negative effects mentioned.

Queer it Up! is a 5 days European multilateral training course for youth workers. This Training Course aims to explore Sexual Identity and Gender Expression/Identity for those unfamiliar with the LGBT+ collective. The TC will provide participants with the necessary competences to include Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity and Expression perspectives in Youth Work Practice and to combat prejudice and discriminatory attitudes.
