The Article 9 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights states says that “No one shall be subjected to arbitrary arrest, detention or exile.” Nowadays, exile is at the centre of the European preoccupations. This thematic is an open door to many questions regarding current European issues as well as a topic that anyone can feel concerned about. What does “Exile” means to me? What does it mean to you and to all of us? Trying to find what could be common and different about this subject totally makes sense in an intercultural context.

The International Summer School is organized by the Berlin Chamber of Crafts and held on its premises located in the former School of the Federation of German Trade Unions (ADGB) in Bernau bei Berlin. An outstanding monument to Bauhaus architecture, the building serves as the site for the one-week courses and related events, while also providing a cohesive context.

10-14/07/2017 - International Youth Academy: Is My Europe The same As Yours? (Βουλγαρία)

The Economic Policy Institute and the Hanns Seidel Foundation are currently organizing the 5th International Youth Academy in the framework of the long-term Paving Youths’ Way student seminars series. The seminar will focus on the topic “Is my Europe the same as yours?” The International Youth Academy seminar will take place in the period July 10-14, 2017 at Pirin Park Hotel, Sandanski (Southwestern Bulgaria).

Eligibility criteria for applicants from Bulgaria, Greece, and Romania:

The United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) Secretariat recognizes the important roles youth play in combating land degradation and promoting sustainable land management (SLM). Empowering young people to protect and restore degraded ecosystems will lead to green innovations that will contribute to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), in particular, reaching SDG15.3 land degradation neutrality.
