Three PhD positions on computational illumination optics design

The Computational Illumination Optics group is one of the few mathematics groups worldwide working on mathematical models of optical systems. They develop and analyze numerical methods to solve the resulting differential equations. The team has a healthy portfolio of PhD positions and close collaborations with industrial partners. It consists of four full FTEs at Eindhoven University of Technology and one part-time professor.

PhD student positions within the ERC Advanced project “RECRUIT”

This project aims to take the concept of receptor recruitment from biology and use it as a design criterium for self-assembling building blocks into well-defined molecular and nanoscale architectures. Intrinsically weak and dynamic interactions are essential in achieving self-assembly and recruitment. Exquisite control over stoichiometry and structure of the assemblies is achieved by harnessing ground-breaking developments in the understanding of the underlying multivalent interactions.
