The department of Personnel Management, Work and Organizational Psychology at Ghent University has vacancies for 3 (fully paid) PhD positions in Work Psychology/OB/HR, starting from October 1st, 2015. - The first position is a fully paid junior researcher position for 6 years, with 50% research and 50% teaching time. Candidates are expected to work with one of the faculty members in writing a dissertation on a topic of their own choice within the research interests of the department. - The second position is a fully paid junior researcher position for 4 years, with 100% research time. The dissertation is part of a FWO granted project. The focus of the project is to integrate the dynamics of 21st century organizations in LMX theory. Flexible networks and fluid boundaries, connecting multiple organizational entities characterize current organizational models. The aim of the project is to extent LMX theory by taking into account that both leaders and subordinates are not only in a dyadic relationship, but that they are also part of multiple, independent, dynamic networks. - The third position is a fully paid junior researcher position for 4 years, with 100% research time. The dissertation is part of a FWO granted project that aims to develop and examine innovative selection/ assessment procedures. Given that the world is characterized by volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity (VUCA), there is increasing consensus that assessment approaches should become more adaptable. Therefore, this project focuses on “hybrid” selection/ assessment procedures, which combine and assemble different building blocks related to various selection procedures into a new approach.
