The Ruhr-Universität Bochum is one of the leading research universities. The university draws its strengths from both the diversity and the proximity of scientific and engineering disciplines on a single, coherent campus. This highly dynamic setting enables students and researchers to work across traditional boundaries of academic subjects and faculties.
The graduate school "Confinement-controlled Chemistry“ is looking for top-class graduate students with an interest in exploring the influence of geometrical confinement on reactions. Our graduate school offers a three-year-program, starting July 1st 2021, that combines cutting-edge research with a structured curriculum (in English) of lectures, colloquia and workshops in the fields of theory, spectroscopy, synthesis, and surface science. The program also comprises the opportunity for an integrated three-month research stay, preferably at the University of California.
Twelve PhD positions (E13 TV-L, 50 % for 3 years) are available in the fields of supramolecular chemistry, synchrotron X-ray spectroscopy, advanced vibrational spectroscopy, single molecule imaging, and free energy simulations.
