ASML leads the worldwide development, production and sales of high-end lithography systems for the semiconductor industry. In short, we make the machines that make computer chips, or integrated circuits. We build some of the most amazing, complex machines that you will ever see - and the software to run them - to develop smaller, faster and still more affordable chips. It is because of our machines that the world's technology has steadily evolved.

Physics is at the heart of everything we do at ASML. To make sure our customer can keep printing smaller and smaller features on chips using our machines. To accomplish this we need physicists and mathematicians who can help us create next-generation products. To achieve this we need both specialists and candidates that want to look at the bigger picture and become generalists.

You will (among other things) participate in the definition of system-level specifications of different functions, such as functionality, algorithms, performance and reliability. For example, you may come up with a measurement scheme to capture an effect or develop an algorithm to describe a physical effect or a correction for an unwanted effect. You willalso perform feasibility studies into required improvements, by means of experiments, simulation and analysis of existing (customer) data. Enable new functions by interacting with specialist software designers in the project team. Integrate and test the function against the specification.

Physics design engineer within EUV optical column:

The optical column is the heart of the EUV system, a technological miracle. ASML's EUV machines push Moore's law forward, enabling new technology waves that improve everyone's life. EUV Optical Column is responsible for delivery of various technically complex modules such as illumination, dose control, projection, & collection for EUV. The department delivers technical solutions in all the different product phases.

As a physics design engineer you will be responsible (among other things) for the design, test and integrate the physics solutions within an optical module group. In your designs choices, you will take into account technical dependencies with other teams, sectors, suppliers, and the customer needs. To provide the best technical solution, you need to understand and connect the technical dependencies and provide one integrated design proposal. You will also assess technical risks and its impact. You will solve technical challenges and customer specific requests too. You will analyze and interpret data using MATLAB and present conclusions and recommendations. Technical complexity and a unique department culture paves the way for rapid professional and personal growth for engineers.

Spare Parts Quality Engineer:

You can be hired as spare parts quality engineer and join our mechanical development department. An entrepreneurial mindset and good stakeholder management skills are of key importance in this role. You will analyze the quality performance of the replaceable parts and execute failure analysis by using correct methodology to identify root cause of failures. You will be responsible for continuously drive and embed improvements in the decision processes over the total lifecycle of replaceable/service parts to optimize the balance of costs versus availability You will also support in defining corrective actions in the area of design, parts availability, repair strategies and service processes.
