This training will offer learning about and with Open Badges. Open Badges is innovative technology to improve recognition of learning anywhere. This course will focus on improving Youthpass recognition in European youth exchanges.
Since 2012, Association of Non-formal Education in Lithuania together with partners of this training course are involved in developing and promoting Open Badges. We aim to improve the recognition of non-formal learning in European youth work.
Open Badges is innovative technology which enables to use digital solutions to value and recognise learning wherever and whenever it happens. Open Badges are visual representations of skills and achievements.
Badges are digital recognition tool that enable learners and organisations to visualise learning progress, manage learning achievements, support the reflection and feedback process, easily share learning outcomes via social networking and CVs.

Objectives of this training course:
• To develop participants competences to support better young people’s learning during the youth exchange projects;
• To introduce participants to Open Badges issuing tools and make participants familiar with http://www.badgecraft.eu;
• To learn how to develop badge systems for the Youthpass recognition in youth exchanges;
• To familiarise participants with the gamification process to improve the engagement of young people;
• To offer opportunities for participants to make contacts and develop future youth exchange projects.
Expected profile of participants:
• Has experience of organising at least 1 youth exchange project as a group leader (sending or hosting);
• Willing to improve the recognition of non-formal learning in the future youth exchanges;
• Speaks good level of English.
• Is above 18 years old
• Resides in the following countries: Estonia, Finland, Germany, Greece, Italy, Lithuania, Portugal or Spain.
Training methodology:
• Group dynamic activities such as name games, icebreakers, group building activities;
• Participatory methods such as group work, participants’ presentations, plenary discussions, project planning;
• Intercultural learning activities such as sauna evenings, field visits, group cultural activities;
• Learning to learn tools and methods such as Open Badges and Youthpass, peer reflection and feedback, debriefings;
• Thematic inputs such as presentations, project examples, showing videos and other online resources;
• Gamified learning activities such as simulations and group quests;
• Evaluation activities such as mid-term and final evaluation of personal learning progress, group dynamics, course quality and management;
