The Interconnected Resource-aware Intelligent Systems cluster at Eindhoven University of Technology has the following three PhD positions on different aspects of Internet of Things and Edge AI.
PhD position 1: AI-driven Internet of Things (IoT) Security
This position is funded by the INTERSECT project, a large Dutch NWO funded project, bringing major academic and industrial organizations involved in IoT security in the Netherlands together. Within this project, we will investigate potential of combination of data-driven and model-driven approaches to detect and mitigate IoT security threats.
PhD position 2: Explainable AI
This position is funded by the Secur-e-Health project, an ITEA funded project. Within this project, we will investigate methods to make AI models and their results more explainable and interpretable for end-users. Specifically, we will look into which parameters and hidden data patterns have led to output of AI models and how application logic/expert knowledge can increase explainability of these models. This project will focus on medical applications and collaborate closely with hospitals and some Dutch medical universities.
PhD position 3: Edge AI
This position we will investigate light-weight, energy-/data- efficient, and self-learning AI and deep learning techniques for Edge devices. Architectural aspects of edge, fog, and cloud computing as well as distribution of learning task and computation will also be investigated.
