“Human Rights under Pressure – Ethics, Law, and Politics” – HR-UP is an international, interdisciplinary doctoral and post-doctoral study, research training group under the joint auspices of Freie Universität Berlin and The Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
Providing a platform for cutting edge research on the most pressing contemporary challenges for the realization of human rights, HR-UP offers young researchers a unique opportunity to conduct original research.
The program is interdisciplinary, welcoming candidates whose research is in relevant fields of Law, Social Sciences or the Humanities, including social work and educational sciences.
Doctoral researchers will be jointly supervised by participating researchers from Germany and Israel. In principle, Doctoral degrees will be awarded by the institution serving as the Doctoral researcher’s home institution.
