Harvard University Post-doctoral Fellow positions are available for Chemistry, Physics, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Ph.D.'s interested to work on the "Top-down Synthesis of Biologically Inspired Chemically Operated Systems" in Dr. Juan Perez-Mercader’s laboratory in Harvard's Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences and within Harvard University's Origins of Life Initiative. (ABD, all but dissertation, candidates may apply but will need the Ph.D. degree prior to start.)
The candidates will work on any of the following: (1) Polymer Chemistry and Self-assembly (e.g., PISA), (2) Non-biochemical but Chemically Induced Collective Phenomena, (3) Non-biochemical Self-replicating Chemical Systems, (4) Development of Chemical Computation, (5) Non-biochemical Adaptive Chemical Systems and (6) Life as we don’t know it.
