Position of Intelectual Property Rights manager in an EU-funded Marie-Curie project (PIAP-GA-2012-324349) General Description: An Intelectual Property Rights Manager will be recruited for 12 months. The person will be employed within the frame of a Marie Curie IAPP project LOVE-TO-HATE (full title: Pesticides – Felicity or curse for the soil microorganisms) (http://lovetohate.bio.uth.gr) funded by the European Commission for a 48-month period (2013-2016). Its main research aim is to investigate the complex interactions between pesticides and soil microorganisms, identify the factors that determine the outcome of those interactions (toxicity or growth), identify on the one hand comprehensive ways/schemes for assessing the soil microbial toxicity of pesticides and on the other hand explore using advanced molecular tools (metagenomics/metatranscriptomics) the mechanisms driving the accelerated biodegradation of pesticides in agricultural soils.
Qualifications:
- First degree in Biological Sciences and/or Law Sciences
- Postgraduate degree in IPR issues (MSc, PhD preferrably)
- Experience in collaboration with both the private sector and academia (Universities, Research Institutes) for exploitation and patenting of research findings
- More than five years experience in the handling and submission of patents and IPR issues at national, European and World level
