The Finance Manager will be deployed in Greece for two to three months to assist the Finance Controller manage the day to day accounting and finance function of the country office. He will also assist in the training of national finance staff both in Mytilene and in the field offices.
Specific responsibilities within each functional area are as follows:
****SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:****
- SUN System / General Ledger Processing:
- Assist in supervising and managing the country financial monthly closing process
- Generate accounting and financial report from SUN System needed for the monthly closing.
- The Monthly Balance Sheet accounts reconciliation:
- Assist in the Preparation of the country office monthly Balance Sheet accounts reconciliation and its supporting documents to be reviewed by the Finance Controller and Country Director.
- Monitor the follow-up of the staff, vendor advances and other balance sheet items before month end.
- Financial Management and Monitoring of Sub-grants
- Liaise with Program and Grant to ensure timely submission of reports, payment of sub award advances and periodic payments.
- Prepare reconciliation of sub-grant advances, reimbursement and updated sub-grant schedule.
- Conduct post award monitoring visits to selected sub-grantees.
- Provide training on sub-grant financial review and monitoring.
- Represent Finance team in all Sub-Grant working group meetings and initiatives along with program, operation and grants teams.
- Training of Finance Staff:
- Providing training and support for the country office finance and program staff on the IRC finance policies, accounting procedures and requirements in the main and field offices.
- Assist in providing the new staff the finance orientations when required
