Head of Marketing in London

DESCRIPTION : VisionMobile is the leading research company in the software economy. We track developer trends across 20,000+ developers annually for clients including Microsoft, Intel, Google, Amazon and Mozilla. Our research appears at the forefront of mainstream media incl. Financial Times, Forbes, TechCrunch, and VentureBeat.

We’re now looking for a full-time, Marketing Manager to head our marketing and propel our position as a research company to the next level. You’ll be working based in Europe or North America (east coast), working from home, a co-working space or our Athens-based office to support our distributed team.

Who we’re looking for
As the Marketing Manager you will have battle-tested experience in designing marketing strategies, running digital campaigns, product positioning and marcoms, with the portfolio to prove it. You will be seasoned in running marketing experiments with the data savvy and persistence that leads to continual improvement. You will be the proud creative thinker behind some of the most innovative campaigns in your industry, keen to expand their knowledge and skills to the software world as it grows tenfold in every aspect of how how we work, play and communicate.

What you’ll be responsible for

As a Marketing Manager you will be responsible for designing and implementing the marketing strategies and demand-generation activities that increase subscriber acquisition for VisionMobile by one order of magnitude. You will be reporting to the CEO with responsibility for:
- Design and execute marketing activities, from blogs, social, webinars and infographics to community sites.
- Plan and lead offline activities such as trade shows and in-person events in Europe and US that build awareness and drive demand.
- Develop novel, compelling marketing content — both narrative and visual — that differentiates VisionMobile services.
- Work closely with the analyst team to market the research pipeline, and implement pre- and post-launch marketing processes.
- Work hand-in-hand with the sales team, generating qualified leads that can be effortlessly converted to sales.
- Research competitive offerings in the market, and develop a strategy for winning business from them.
- Run marketing campaigns across our audiences, and continually improve though A/B testing. Champion data-backed decisions using leading-edge online tools (Mixpanel, Google Analytics) and coach others within the business to do the same.
- Systematically research our target audiences to understand a) their demographics and cohorts b) their outside-in perspective on the business and what they are trying to achieve.
- Run initiatives to increase subscribers to VisionMobile’s member zone and finetune the funnel.
- Promote our content to news and media channels in order to raise VisionMobile’s brand awareness

REQUIREMENTS
What skills we are looking for
- Previous experience in designing successful marketing campaigns, across a wide channel mix, and ideally.
- Proven ability to deliver continually improved results through split testing and data-driven campaigns, using leading-edge analytics tools such as Mixpanel, Kissmetrics or Google Analytics.
- Understanding the diverse needs of two different audiences; developers and business-to-developer companies
- Proven experience of developing new marketing formats and creative collateral, with high-end production standards.
- Prior experience of working in a B2B media marketing or research marketing role or is an advantage
- Startup mentality, able to get stuff done, while utilising minimal resources and inventing your way out of resource constraints.
- A passion for technology, and understanding of how it’s impacting people’s lives
- Comfortable working as part of a distributed team across four countries.
- Fluent in English speaking and writing.
