The newly funded Collaborative Research Center 1116 "Master switches in cardiac ischemia" (Director: Prof. Dr. Jens Fischer) at the Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf invites applications for 15 open PhD positions (TV-L E13, 65%)
The SFB 1116 is a Collaborative Research Center funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) with participating groups of the Heinrich Heine University, the Leibniz Research Institute for Environmental Medicine (IUF), the German Diabetes Center Düsseldorf (DDZ), and the University of Essen. The SFB 1116 intends to identify cardiac and systemic effector mechanisms (master switches), in the acute/subacute phase after acute myocardial infarction (AMI) that determine the morbidity and mortality after AMI and could be used as future therapeutic targets.
We offer a structured international 3 years doctoral program in our integrated Research Training Group (RTG1116) which offers an excellent research environment, a comprehensive curriculum and a broad supervision and mentoring network jointly educating natural scientists in the field of cardiovascular biology. The program is complemented by specific seminars as well as an individualized curriculum comprising lectures, lab and soft-skill courses, congresses, and symposia.
