The Central European University (Hungary) invites applications for a 36 months fixed term post (1 March 2016 until 31 January 2019) as an Early Stage Researcher (ESR) in gender studies to research and write a PhD thesis within the area of ‘European boundaries and the production of cultures of equality’.
Successful applicant will be based with the Department of Gender Studies at the Central European University. This call will enable 15 researchers to work on the EU-funded European Training Network ‘GRACE: Gender and Cultures of Equality’.
Candidates are welcomed with Master’s degrees, a demonstrable interest and experience in Gender studies, English language skills, and a willingness to spend a period of 6-9 months on secondment at Utrecht University (Netherlands). Applicants will be required to submit a 1000 word research proposal outlining the innovative ways in which they will tackle this project .
Eligibility
Applications are accepted from candidates with an MA or equivalent degree from any discipline in the Humanities and Social Sciences. The applicant have to fulfill CEU requirements for language proficiency.

The financial support for ITN projects is calculated on the basis of eligible person months and takes the form of grants covering up to 100% of the costs. Funding is exclusively in the form of unit costs (researcher and institutional unit costs). Unit costs are fixed amounts and apply to all categories of eligible costs.
