Doctoral Student/Postdoctoral Researcher (Computer and Robot Vision, 1-4 positions)
The research conducted at the Department of Signal Processing covers signal processing widely. The main research themes are Intelligence in Machines, Information Technology for Biology and Health, and Signal and Information Processing. The department has a modern, forward-looking research agenda, which is scientifically ambitious, industrially interesting and well aligned with the general goals of the Tampere University of Technology. Job description:
The positions are for scientific research in externally funded (Academy of Finland, Finnish Funding Agency for Innovation and EU) projects related to computer and robot vision, in particular, scene understanding, human-robot interaction and telepresence.
In the Doctoral Student positions the candidates will work as a member of research team and they will be supervised by the senior members of the group.
In the Postdoctoral Researcher positions the candidates will work independently in research teams, collaborate with their colleagues and project partners, and supervise PhD and MSc students.
Requirements:
A Doctoral Student candidate must be creative and highly motivated and should hold a MSc or equivalent or be a MSc student in the final stage of studies. Suitable disciplines include Computer Science, Mathematics, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Computer Vision, Robot Vision, Robotics and other related areas. The candidate must be fluent in written and spoken English. Solid programming skills are required (Matlab/C/C++/Python/etc.)
The requirements for the Postdoctoral Researcher position are similar except that a Postdoctoral Researcher should hold a PhD or equivalent or be a PhD student in the final stage of studies. Strong academic track record is expected.
