The ICCUB has experienced a major expansion in the last few years and has been awarded the Maria de Maeztu Unit of Research Excellence distinction.
Applicants should have completed a PhD in Physics or Astrophysics by the time the contract starts. The successful applicants are expected to join the ICCUB before the end of 2016, and will be encouraged to collaborate broadly with our faculty, other postdocs, and students. Candidates with interest and/or experience in the following research areas of current interest at ICCUB will be prioritised:
Theoretical cosmology, large-scale structure surveys,
Dark matter, galaxy formation and the intergalactic medium,
High-energy astrophysics,
Numerical simulations and observations of star formation,
Galactic astronomy in the GAIA era.
The ICCUB has access to large computer resources for numerical studies, and participates in the international missions of GAIA, MAGIC, CTA, DESI, WEAVE and LSST. Applicants are encouraged to consult the ICCUB research interests at icc.ub.edu for more details, and to contact directly the faculty in the research lines of their interest.
