Operations Manager in Saudi Arabia.
Main responsibilities
- Plan and prepare annual Operation budget taking company’s business plan into account and submit to VP Operations for review and approval
- Plan and manage the plants’ resources and scheduling of work to meet agreed production targets in the most efficient manner
- Monitor and control operation of the plants to effectively meet established standard of quality and productivity; optimize, implement and successfully manage production efficiency
- Ensure adequate supplies of raw materials and consumable are made available for the plants to meet production targets
- Analyze and implement process flow improvements, to include capabilities for growth
- Develop and implement lean manufacturing process optimizing production attaining cost efficiency.
- Develop and oversee implementation and administration of department policies, systems, and procedures.
- Ensure that Maintenance Department is aware of any repairs or maintenance needs so that downtime on machinery is kept as minimum as possible
- Determine optimum staffing model for the department.
- Recruit, monitor and train subordinates to develop production skills and ensure that production and quality targets are achieved
- Ensure that all production activities meet both internal company standard, ISO 9001:2000 and external regulatory requirements with respect to quality of production, occupational health and safety of employees and ensure that company`s obligations and policies in these areas are fully complied with.
- Ensure fair and equitable administration of collective agreements to promote good employee relations
- Conduct periodical performance evaluation of subordinates and take appropriate measures for supplying deficiencies and achieving greater productivity
- Report regularly to Vice President, Operation on all aspects of production and administration of plant activities
Candidate profile
- University degree in mechanical engineering
- 10 years solid experience in manufacturing industry environment (especially in an industry engaged in the fabrication of structural steel, process equipment etc.)
- Knowledge of manufacturing process – knowledge of statistical process control and lean manufacturing methods
- Fluent in English and the usage of information technology
- Managerial and leadership skills
- Strategic thinking and decision making skills
- Proven experience in operational analysis and re-engineering / re-structuring operational process.
