Ideas Powered EU Video Competition, 2015

We are delighted to present to you “Ideas Powered” initiative, the first EU-wide interactive website and social media channels dedicated to young people and Intellectual Property (IP) as well as offer them the possibility to get involved and contribute.

Launched on July 23rd of this year, this initiative is supported by the Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM), the EU’s intellectual property agency acting though the European Observatory on infringement of intellectual property rights.

Currently, “Ideas Powered” is holding a monthly competition that invites young people (15-24) to submit a video up to 3 minutes long showcasing their originality and talent. Participants get recognition and exposure of the originality and creativity of the products of their mind and winners are offered a city trip for 2 to the European destination of their choice.

Submissions will be placed on our website and promoted to a wide network of influencers, stakeholders and partners as well as on our vast social media network. This is a great opportunity for them to gain exposure and have their work presented to a large audience.

The prize each month is:

A trip for two to any European city, up to a maximum value of EUR 1 000 (one thousand euros), including return travel to the chosen destination from any point in Europe and up to two nights’ accommodation.

Once the winner has been selected, they will be asked to prove compliance with the eligibility criteria. They must then provide three choices of destination and three dates. The one that best fits with the maximum budget for the trip will be selected.

The cost of air or train travel is covered but it is the winner’s responsibility to arrive at the chosen airport or railway station of departure and to take out any additional travel insurance.

Prize-winners will be announced on the website on the last day of each month after 12:00 hours CET.

All participants who submit a valid entry will receive a confirmation email from the ‘Ideas Powered’ creative competition team, which will be sent as an automatic reply to the email address from which the application was sent.

No further compensation will be paid in connection with the use of entries. Prizes are not transferable. There will be no prize substitutions other than those provided for herein. There will be no cash redemptions.

If, for any reason, prizes cannot be awarded as stated herein, OHIM reserves the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater value.
